Prices are very respectable now, however expect them to rise steadily as experts predict these superb Quattro sports coupe’s to become a classic very soon. This TT has been subtly & tastefully enhanced which adds to the design.
The S-Line was a limited edition run which had only 200 for the UK market, in either Misano Red or Avus Silver, with either grey or red leather interior. Other extras included the titanium grey surrounds for the HID headlights, aluminium gear knob, 25mm drop lowered sports suspension and the new alloy wheels.
The following year had these extras as standard and became the regular model spec, but the S-Line was only available for a short run & only in this year. Prices of the Mk1 TT will begin to rise as they become recognised as the design classic they’ve always been, & these s-line Ltd editions in particular as they’re so rare.
The car is the 1.8 with the K04 turbo giving 225bhp as standard through a quattro drivetrain with a 6 gear manual. As standard, they can be mapped to give about 260bhp.
This is still factory standard. Changing the turbo downpipe to a 3" bore with sports CAT could be mapped to 280bhp, but it is currently on the standard map still which gives 0-60 in about 6 seconds in all weathers...
Already over 20 years old, it’s plain to see the design team at Audi got this just right design when they launched the TT & investing in one now will give excellent residual value, plus the fun factor.
The MK1 TT still look great on the outside, with such high quality build & design on the inside, that it’s a very pleasant place to be.
